BID OPENING DATE:

This Addendum is issued for the purpose of modifying and/or clarifying the original Contract Documents and shall take precedence over them.
All work included herein shall be in accordance with the original drawings and specifications except as specifically noted herein. All incidental items required to provide the following modifications shall be included even though not specifically described.
This addendum is being sent to all bidders receiving plans and specifications. Receipt of this Addendum shall be noted on the Proposal Form in the appropriate location.
General Notes / Clarification

- Any recyclable materials removed from the project site must be tracked and reported to the DTMB and the agency (lbs., linear feet, etc.).
- Contractor to assist the design professional and facility staff by providing information to obtain any potential energy credits or rebates.
RFI Questions
1. Q: Please provide a specification for the cast-in-place concrete (ref A102 note 16) and the metal fabrication (ref detail 7 – Roof Opening Frame, on A501).
See Cast-In-Place Concrete specifications.
Metal Fabrication: see detail #6 and #7 on sheet A-501.
2. Q: I am writing a request for approval for Shoemaker Manufacturing as an equal to the specified make and model grilles and diffusers specified and scheduled in the bid documents.
Shoemaker Manufacturing is an approved alternate to submit for shop drawing review. Shop drawings of the listed equipment for final approval is still required.
http://www.michigan.gov/SIGMAVSS
3. Q: I am looking at the Parnall Correction Facility project and have a question about fire rated glass.
The door schedule on page A601 does not have a rating or designation of fire rating, however, page A201 detail 2 shows a fire door typ. Are all D2 doors to receive fire rated glazing? How many minutes? Or are just doors 106 and 107 fire rated? Please clarify.
There are no fire rated doors and glazing on this project. See attached revised sheet A-201.
4. What is the height from the ceiling to deck?
There is 6-8 feet of working room above the suspended drop ceiling when working from the fire panel to the new area. The ceiling access is in the mechanical room just behind the fire panel, however there is nothing really to walk on up there, it’s just the suspended ceiling grid and wire.
5. Fire protection drawings FP-300 and FP-400.
Note number 4 show adding Live-Tap shut off valve to be installed outside building underground This valve has to be installed before Fire Suppression rider can be modified.
Since the valve that has to be installed is for domestic water who will install this valve?
Plummer or Fire Suppression.
General Contractor to determine who is responsible for installation of new live-tap shutoff valve.
6. Fire protection drawings FP-300 and FP-400 Plans do not show any work in remodeled area. Will the sprinkler heads need to be relocated?
Fire suppression piping is not currently installed in existing dry storage area. Fire suppression piping is not required to serve new Mental Health office area.

a. Remove defective areas with clean, square cuts, and expose steel reinforcement with at least a 3/4-inch clearance all around.
b. Dampen concrete surfaces in contact with patching concrete and apply bonding agent.
c. Mix patching concrete of same materials and mixture as original concrete, except without coarse aggregate.
d. Place, compact, and finish to blend with adjacent finished concrete.
e. Cure in same manner as adjacent concrete.
8. Repair random cracks and single holes 1 inch or less in diameter with patching mortar.
