The project aims to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to address longstanding road and property flooding issues in a low-lying area between Lordship Boulevard (Route 113) and Stratford Avenue (Route 130). The solicitation was open from August 31, 2022, to September 28, 2022, with a vendor Q&A period from August 31 to September 14, 2022. All vendors were eligible to respond to this bid, which requires developing alternatives to alleviate flooding during various rainfall events and coordinating with ongoing municipal initiatives.
The RFP specifies payment terms of Net 30 Days and provides contact information for Philip Ryan at the Town of Stratford (2725 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615). Potential bidders were instructed to submit any requests for information (RFI) in writing only, with no verbal communication accepted. Who can respond to this bid? : All Vendors Description: The Town of Stratford is interested in engaging a Civil Engineer to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and develop alternatives to effectively resolve longstanding road and property flooding due to excessive rainfall. The “south end” of Stratford (“Town”) is situated between Lordship Boulevard (Route 113) and Stratford Avenue (Route
130) and is a low lying, flat part of the town adjacent to the shoreline area. The topography and low elevation in relation to the tide means that it is difficult for the rainfall runoff to drain. The study will evaluate alternatives to alleviate flooding of roads and basements during a variety of rainfall events and will be performed in coordination with other on-going initiatives.
