The RFP (Solicitation Number 2023-13) was issued on August 31, 2022, with responses due by September 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM EDT. The scope includes evaluating alternatives to alleviate road and basement flooding during various rainfall events, with particular focus on the low-lying, flat shoreline area where drainage is complicated by topography and tidal influences.
The RFP is open to all vendors, with payment terms set at Net 30 Days. Questions from vendors were accepted from August 31, 2022 at 8:30 PM EDT until September 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM EDT, and must be submitted in writing to Philip Ryan at pryan@townofstratford.com. Who can respond to this bid? : All Vendors Description: The Town of Stratford is interested in engaging a Civil Engineer to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and develop alternatives to effectively resolve longstanding road and property flooding due to excessive rainfall. The “south end” of Stratford (“Town”) is situated between Lordship Boulevard (Route 113) and Stratford Avenue (Route
130) and is a low lying, flat part of the town adjacent to the shoreline area. The topography and low elevation in relation to the tide means that it is difficult for the rainfall runoff to drain. The study will evaluate alternatives to alleviate flooding of roads and basements during a variety of rainfall events and will be performed in coordination with other on-going initiatives.
