About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for LEAD Public Schools, a public charter school network in Nashville, Tennessee, outlining the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of commercial kitchen equipment for a new K-5 elementary school campus at 444 Metroplex Drive. The project requires a contractor to provide a complete turnkey solution including planning, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, and training for a functional school kitchen serving approximately 500 students. The kitchen footprint will be approximately 860-1,290 square feet, with designated zones for prep and cooking (45-55% of space), cold storage with 30/70 cooler-to-freezer allocation (approximately 30% of space), and sanitation/warewashing (15-20% of space). The scope encompasses all major commercial kitchen equipment categories including primary cooking equipment (convection ovens, combination steam oven, tilting braising pan, commercial microwave, ventilation hood), cold storage and refrigeration (walk-in cooler/freezer, display refrigerators, milk coolers, transport cabinets), food preparation equipment (industrial processor, mixer, slicer, work tables), cafeteria serving stations (steam tables, salad bar, point-of-sale terminals), and warewashing/sanitation equipment (commercial dishwasher, three-compartment sink, handwashing stations, fire-suppression system).

The contractor must develop kitchen layouts, submit detailed equipment specifications for LEAD approval prior to ordering, coordinate delivery with the general contractor and project schedule, perform complete installation including all utility connections, conduct mandatory commissioning with comprehensive testing and documentation, provide operator training, and deliver all closeout documentation including warranties, manuals, and maintenance information. The contractor bears full responsibility for verifying site conditions, dimensions, utility requirements, and equipment compatibility before procurement; coordinating with LEAD, the Owner's Representative, General Contractor, Architect, and applicable trades; correcting all deficiencies identified during inspection or commissioning; and ensuring all equipment is new, unused, properly installed, tested, and fully operational at final acceptance. The contractor must clearly identify all work excluded from its scope, such as utility rough-ins, electrical infrastructure, plumbing rough-ins, gas service, HVAC, exhaust hood installation, fire-suppression systems, and building modifications, and no exclusions shall be assumed unless expressly identified in the proposal and accepted by LEAD.
