Question and Answer
1. What is the schedule for waste disposal?
The schedule for waste disposal, is the timing in the project to dispose of waste during the project. How many times a week the contractor will be required to dispose waste during the week.
2. Door D2, it seems that the position before and after the remodeling is the same. Is it necessary to uninstall and reinstall it?
The door D2 will not be necessary to remove but in case needed the contractor shall remove it and no additional charge will be allowed. The contractor is responsible for the care of every reused element of the room, and they shall make a survey to understand the initial status of every element.
3. When replacing the supply ducts and replacing VAV-0-187, will the air handling units be turned off?
No, the AHU can’t be turned off and the contractor will have to coordinate all works with COR, prior any job related to the HVAC. In case that the contractor, needs the AHU shut down, this will need to be on a weekend to avoid disruptions.
4. As it is not indicated on the plans. Should the internal face of the gypsum wall facing corridor 184 be removed to replace the acoustic insulation?
This is an installation method and will be the contractor’s call once he/she sees the structure inside the wall. If the COR notes that the method requires to remove this face of the wall is more efficient, then this will need to be done.
The initial intention of the insulation installation is to simply remove an area from the insulation, but, if necessary, this action will be required at no cost.
5. It was indicated in the meeting that the doors to be installed will be reused, are the hinges and locks also being reused?
Yes, doors and hinges will be reused.
6. Are the new air conditioning ducts to be supplied and installed only those that are after
VAV-0186 and VAV-0187?
• Only ducts that are before and after VAV’s will be included in the contract. No main duct will be touched and this will need to be coordinated with COR.
7. The 2" piping and the wiring that goes from the Electrical Panel NLR/12A to the
Junction Box "J" and breakers 58, 60, and 61: will they be supplied and installed by the
Embassy?
No, this will be included in the contract. The embassy will refer the routing and how to manage the way to go to the electrical room.
All wall penetrations shall be sealed with a fire-resistant caulking, better or equal than HILTI
FIRE PRODUCTS.
8. If the answer to point 7 is negative, how much distance is there between these two points?
Approximately 35 meters, this will be including any deviation.
9. For the installation of the linear diffusers, there are two that are installed on the wall facing corridor 184. For one of the other two, should a lintel be made?
Yes, for both supply grilles will be necessary to install a lintel.
10. To feed the linear diffusers, should they be fed with a flexible duct?
It’s permitted, but following ASHRAE STANDARDS on flexible ducts and supply grilles installations.
11. The countertops to be used as a work table, will they be supplied and installed by the
Embassy?
No furniture will be supplied by the contractor.
12. Internally, do the gypsum walls require any type of reinforcement for hanging or installing? For example, the countertops indicated in point 11?
All reinforcement will be as per INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE and will be only for the windows and doors.
13. Will USG provide actuators for Variable Volume Box?
Yes, actuators will be provided as Government Furnish Material (GFM).
14. Could ceiling tiles and grilles reused?
Yes, but is Contractor responsibility to provide any missing material to complete the project.
15. Could diffuser and return grilles reused?
Yes, except for supply grilles that must be provided by the Contractor.
