About this file
This is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Deltamethrin TG, a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide produced by Sumitomo Chemical (UK) PLC. The product is a crystalline solid composed of greater than 98% (S)-alpha-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (1R,3R)-3-(2,2-dibromovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropane carboxylate with CAS number 52918-63-5 and EC number 258-256-6. The substance is classified as toxic (T) and dangerous for the environment (N) with risk phrases indicating it is harmful by inhalation (R20), toxic if swallowed (R25), and very toxic to aquatic organisms with long-term environmental effects (R50/53).
The product presents significant hazard concerns including acute oral toxicity (LD50: 66.7-128.5 mg/kg in rats), inhalation toxicity (LC50: 2.2 mg/l in rats over 4 hours), and severe aquatic toxicity with 96-hour fish LC50 values of 0.001-0.01 mg/l. First aid measures address potential paresthesias and neurological effects from exposure. Transportation regulations classify Deltamethrin as Class 6.1 (toxic substance) under ADR/RID, IMDG, ICAO-TI, and IATA-DGR with UN number 3349. Personal protective equipment requirements include respirators with P3 filters, protective gloves, safety goggles, and suitable protective clothing. The material is used for preparing insecticidal products for professional and household use and must be stored in dry, well-ventilated conditions away from heat and direct sunlight, with disposal conducted according to local regulations.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Symptoms and effects Synthetic pyrethroids can produce paresthesias.
Typically, symptoms begin several hours after cutaneous exposure, peaks within about 12 hours and resolves within about 24 hours.
Extraordinary absorbed doses may rarely cause tremor, hyperexcitability, uncoordinated movements, salivation, nausea or vomiting and diarrhoea.
First aid General In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).
Inhalation Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
Skin Remove contaminated clothing. Wash immediately with soap and water.
Eye Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to ensure thorough rinsing. Seek medical advice if irritation develops.
Ingestion Rinse mouth. Give water to drink. Induce vomiting. Never induce vomiting in unconscious or confused persons. Always seek medical advice.
Advice to physician Symptomatic treatment is advised.
Consult National Poison Center.
