About this file
This is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for PEINTURE TRACAGE MARQUAGE (Trace Mark), an extremely flammable marking paint product manufactured by MARQUAGE PLUS, located in Saint Michel de Rivière, France. The document was issued on January 14, 2005, and provides comprehensive hazard and safety information in compliance with European directive 91/155/EEC and ISO 11014-1 standards.
The product is a pressurized aerosol paint containing four primary components: Dimethyl Ether (25-50% concentration), N-Butyl Acetate (10-25%), Naphtha Hydrodesulfurized Heavy (10-25%), and Ethyl Acetate (2-10%). The preparation is classified as Extremely Flammable (R12) with a flash point below 0°C and distillation temperature at or below 35°C. While not classified as hazardous to health under directive 1999/45/EC, the product poses risks of cutaneous irritation and vapor inhalation hazards. Key safety measures include maintaining well-ventilated work areas, preventing electrostatic charge accumulation, avoiding ignition sources, and using appropriate personal protective equipment including polyvinyl alcohol or latex gloves and eye protection. Storage requirements mandate keeping containers tightly closed in dry, well-ventilated locations protected from sunlight and temperatures exceeding 50°C. In case of accidental exposure, first aid measures include eye irrigation for 15 minutes, moving inhalation victims to fresh air, and immediate medical consultation. The product must be transported in compliance with ADR, RID, IMDG, and ICAO/IATA regulations as classified UN1950 Aerosols, and must be consigned to approved waste collectors following disposal protocols rather than being poured into drains or waterways.

4 - FIRST AID MEASURES
As a general rule, in case of doubt or if symptoms persist, always call a doctor.
NEVER induce swallowing in an unconscious person.
In the event of exposure by inhalation.
If a large quantity is inhaled, move the patient into the fresh air and keep him/her warm and still.
Make use of reanimation technics. A prolonged clinik supervision can be usefull
In the event of splashes or contact with eyes.
Wash thoroughly with soft, clean water for 15 minutes holding the eyelids open.
Refer the patient to an ophthalmologist, in particular if there is any redness, pain or visual impairment.

In the event of swallowing.
In the event of swallowing, if the quantity is small (no more than one mouthful), rinse the mouth with water and consult a doctor.
If swallowed accidentally, call a doctor to assess the need for monitoring and subsequent treatment in hospital. Show him the label.
5 - FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Chemical powders, carbon dioxide and other extinguishing gas are suitable for small fires.
In the event of fire, the recommended extinguishing agents are:
Special foams for polar liquids (known as alcohol resistant), powders, carbon dioxide.
In the event of fire, use specifically suitable extinguishing agents. Never use water.
Extinguishing agents not to be used Keep packages near the fire cool, to prevent pressurised containers from bursting.
Prevent the effluent of fire-fighting measures from entering drains or waterways.
Do not use compressed air during filling, emptying or handling.
Special equipment for fire-fighting personnel.
Fire-fighting personnel are to be equipped with autonomous insulating breathing apparatus.
Due to the toxicity of the gas emitted on thermal decomposition of the products, fire-fighting personnel are to be equipped with autonomous insulating breathing apparatus.
6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Safety precautions:
Eliminate any possible source of ignition and ventilate the premises.
On account of the organic solvents contained in the preparation, eliminate sources of ignition and ventilate the premises.
Avoid inhaling the vapors.
Consult the safety measures listed under headings 7 and 8.
Prevent every risk of ignition of the steams.
Wearing of gloves, glasses and possibly with an autonomous mask.
The pouring can bring the surfaces slippery.
Environmental safety precautions:
Contain and control the leaks or spills with non-combustible absorbent materials such as sand, earth, vermiculite, diatom earth in drums for waste disposal.
Prevent any material from entering drains or waterways.
Use drums to dispose of waste recovered in accordance with applicable regulations (see heading 13).
If the product contaminates waterways, rivers or drains, alert the relevant authorities in accordance with statutory procedures
Cleaning methods:
Clean preferably with a detergent, do not use solvents.
Use some absorbent.
The elimination must be carried out by a registrated salvage professionnal.
7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE
The regulations relating to storage premises apply to workshops where the product is handled.
Handling:
Handle in well-ventilated areas.
The vapors are denser than air. They can spread along the ground and form explosive mixtures with air
Prevent the formation of flammable or explosive concentrations in air and avoid vapor concentrations higher than the occupational exposure limits.
Do not spray on a naked flame or any incandescent material.
Prevent accumulation of electrostatic charges.
