About this file

This document is a notification and work plan for a lane shift project involving Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) at 18th Avenue and Pierce Street in Eugene, Oregon. The work involves chlorinating an already installed water main, requiring a three-shift project scheduled from 8:15am to 4:00pm with 48-hour advance notifications to local emergency services, including Fire/EMS, Eugene Police Department, and City of Eugene Signal Operations. The project requires maintaining work zone safety with flaggers, preserving 10-foot minimum travel lanes, using appropriate signage (UWA, CLCA, LSR, RTO), and ensuring continuous communication and access for businesses and pedestrians.

The notification connects to a broader infrastructure project (ITB 25-041-PW) for water main replacement on Pierce Street from E 18th Ave to E 23rd Ave and Grant Street from the 2000 block to E 22nd Ave. The comprehensive water infrastructure upgrade will involve installing approximately 2,690 feet of 12-inch water main, 1,425 feet of 8-inch water main, and 30 feet of 6-inch water main. Project components include water valves, fittings, connected water services, and fire hydrants. Key contacts for the project include Nate Wahto (541-579-9359), Nolan Melendrez (541-914-8109), and Tyler Kennedy (541-520-5141), who will oversee the technical and logistical aspects of the infrastructure improvements.
