About this file

This is a Bid Bond Form for Marion County Board of County Commissioners in Florida related to Contract 26B-094 for the Stanton Weirsdale Drainage Retention Area project. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that the selected bidder will execute a contract in accordance with their submitted bid and will provide performance and payment bonds as specified in the bidding documents. The project involves stormwater retrofit and drainage improvements along SE 134th Avenue Road, including construction of a new drainage retention area and associated conveyance system on Marion County-owned parcels and within the right-of-way.

Bidders may submit either a traditional bid bond or a Cashier's Check in lieu of the bond. If a Cashier's Check is submitted, payments from the top three-ranked firms will remain in the custody of Procurement Services until a contract is executed with the recommended firm and approved by the County. Firms are responsible for retrieving their bid bonds or arranging courier pickup (FedEx, UPS), and those requesting standard USPS mail delivery must submit a written request, with the County bearing no liability for lost or misdirected mail. The bid bond form requires completion of standard information including the contractor's name and address, surety details, bid number and project title, bond amount, and signatures from the principal, surety, and witnesses with appropriate seals and acknowledgments.
