About this file

This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Department of Justice (DOJ) for Transcription Support Services, solicitation number 15JPSS25R00000088. The contract involves transcribing 225-300 hours of audio per week with a $75M ceiling, primarily located in Washington, DC. Current vendors include CRC Salomon, Heritage Reporting, Free State Reporting, and Diaz Data Services. Key requirements include digital audio transcription (less than 1% from cassette tapes), court reporting services, and strict quality control measures with potential financial penalties for non-compliance.

Significant contract details include a 26% requirement for hard copy transcripts, expedited categories estimated at one-third of the caseload, and mandatory security clearances with a six-week processing time. Vendors must have REAL ID for staff, ability to process public trust qualifications, and comply with industry standards for transcript formatting. The DOJ will distribute work initially by request and subsequently as needed, with past performance and quality of deliverables playing a critical role in vendor selection. Potential bidders should note that while the site visit is not mandatory, technical scoring may be affected by non-attendance.
