About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ 140P8626Q0009, issued by the National Park Service Contracting Operations - West for the replacement of a pump station generator at Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA). The document was revised on March 3, 2026, and addresses 33 clarifying questions from potential contractors regarding the scope of work.

The primary deliverables include replacement of a diesel generator system (Kohler 135ROZJ, 135kW, 169 kVA, 277/480V three-phase) with a John Deere 6081TF001 engine, along with a new fuel tank sized for 48-hour runtime without refueling. The contractor must provide a temporary generator (100 horsepower pumps requiring 125 amps at 480V three-phase) during the transfer period and is responsible for obtaining new BAAQMD emissions permits. The contractor shall replace the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) components while reusing the existing cabinet housing, replace all intake and exhaust piping, and provide DEF fluid and other emissions-related fluids for testing. Notably, the building is not fire-rated, requiring fuel storage to comply with non-fire-rated building limitations, per the revised Scope of Work dated March 3, 2026. Double containment for the fuel tank may be bypassed due to space constraints. The contractor is responsible for any sewage overflow cleanup and must either provide a sewage truck for pumping or electrical bypass capability if ATS replacement exceeds 6 hours. Payment will be made only after project acceptance, which requires receipt of all permits, successful testing completion, and approved certified payroll documents.
