About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ 140P8626Q0009 issued by the National Park Service Contracting Operations - West for the replacement of a generator system at Pump Station 840 in Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA).
The procurement requires replacement of a diesel generator system (Kohler 135ROZJ with John Deere 6081TF001 engine, 135kW, 169 kVA, 277/480v three-phase) and associated fuel tank with a minimum 48-hour runtime capability. The genset is a base bid requirement while an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) replacement is an optional price line item. Key scope elements include: replacement of all intake and exhaust piping; provision of temporary generator (capable of powering 100hp pumps at 125 amps, 480v 3-phase) during installation; Tier 4 emissions compliance with contractor-supplied DEF fluid for testing; new BAAQMD permit acquisition; reuse of existing disconnect switch with full replacement of emergency disconnect switch; and reuse of existing ATS housing with replacement of internal components only. The fuel tank shall be located inside the building with no building modifications permitted. The contractor must provide vibration isolation specifications equivalent to spring isolators, maintain venting in the same configuration as existing, and is responsible for any sewer overflow cleanup or provision of sewage truck pumping/bypass during ATS replacement (requiring completion within 6 hours if no standby pump is available). No convenience outlets, annunciator, or double containment for the day tank are required. Generator status monitoring is limited to running/not running status and line voltage through existing SCADA system. The existing generator has not experienced failure and currently holds a BAAQMD operating permit.
