Replace Pump at Lighthouse Well, Point Reyes National Seashore (PORE)

General Information:

The Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, and personnel necessary to manage and accomplish the work.

This is a Performance Work Statement, meaning the NPS has provided a list of key tasks below, but that list may not cover all that’s required for the contractor to do a full well pump replacement. NPS is relying on Contractor’s expertise and experience to prepare a firm-fixed priced quote for complete replacement of the well pump.

A. Description of Primary Tasks/Work:

1. Remove and dispose of the existing pump located in the Lighthouse well in Point

Reyes National Seashore at coordinates 38.04685 degrees North, 122.98837 degrees

West. The well is about 422 feet deep, and the existing pump is suspended at 315 feet.

2. Furnish and install a new well pump, Goulds 5G S20 or equivalent, but must be 2 horsepower, 230 volts, single phase.

3. Furnish and install a 2-inch dimeter drop pipe, Schedule 80 PVC or better.

4. Furnish and install electrical wiring and controls needed to operate the pump.

5. After installation the well is to be sterilized with chlorine and sealed.

6. Submit specification sheets for products and materials to be installed to the

Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for COR’s review and approval prior to contractor installing them.

7. Furnish the well pump manufacturer’s warranty to the COR along with any other materials’ warranties.

B. Contractor will also be responsible for the following:

1. The Contractor is responsible for completing work that conforms to the County of

Marin Environmental Health Services Department regulations.

2. Removing all waste materials, adhering to Local, State, and Federal regulations.

C. Environmental protection:

To minimize environmental impact, construction activity shall be limited to a small allowable work area in order to protect as much as possible the natural environment around where the pump is located. Coordinate staging areas for equipment and work zones with COR prior to start of work.

D. Period of Performance:
