About this file

The provided documents are structural engineering plans for the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument project, dated September 5, 2025. The plans include comprehensive structural details for a wood-framed building, specifying construction requirements, materials, and design criteria. Key technical specifications include a 2024 International Building Code compliance, Risk Category II, roof dead load of 15 PSF, roof live load of 20 PSF, ground snow load of 5 PSF, and basic wind speed of 130 MPH. The structural design incorporates wood trusses, wood shear walls, foundation details, and specific requirements for concrete work, reinforcing steel, and wood framing.

The documents provide extensive technical guidance for contractors, including notes on submittals, delegated design components, structural design criteria, foundation specifications, concrete and reinforcing requirements, post-installed anchors, wood framing details, and construction testing protocols. Specific technical requirements cover items such as slab-on-grade construction, wood truss design, wall stud specifications, sheathing attachment, holdown and hurricane tie details, and nailing schedules. The plans are prepared by multiple engineering firms including Croft & Associates, Moffatt & Nichol, and MH Structures, with a focus on precise structural engineering standards and construction methodologies.
