About this file

This technical specification covers cast-in-place concrete work for the CHOH 245002 & 287711 project located at National Park Service sites. The specification includes requirements for concrete materials, mix designs, formwork, reinforcement, placement, finishing, and repair work. Concrete classes defined are Class A for retaining walls, beams, and slabs on grade with minimum compressive strengths ranging from 5000 to over 5000 psi depending on exposure class. Finishing requirements include float finishes for surfaces to receive trowel finishes and trowel finishes with specified surface tolerances for exposed slabs. The specification also provides details on concrete curing, form removal, and field quality control testing to be performed by an independent testing agency.
