About this file
This document contains answers to questions regarding Amendment 4 of a construction project solicitation. The amendment clarifies that two street lights, identified as points #184 and #185 on drawing C5, need to be relocated as part of highway work. While three street light relocation locations are shown on drawing D1, the western-most light no longer requires relocation. For the storm drain system, fused high-density polyethylene pipe must be used. If 15-inch fused pipe is unavailable, the next larger size that allows fusing should be supplied.
The related federal contract opportunity is for construction work at the USFWS Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge in Hanalei Valley, Hawaii. The project involves developing a viewpoint area. The solicitation was issued by the National Park Service on behalf of the Department of the Interior.

Amendment 4 Q and A
Q18: Answer A16 indicates that two (2) street lights are to be relocated. Sheet D1 shows three locations where street lights are to be relocated. Please confirm how many street lights need to be relocated.
A18: Refer to drawing C5 and points #184 and #185. Two (2) street lights will be relocated as part of the highway work. The western-most street light, shown on D1, no longer needs to be relocated.
Q19: Answer A11 does not fully answer the question. Can we use N-12 HDPE Water Tight pipe for this project? It is corrugated on the outside and smooth wall on the inside and seems more appropriate for this gravity drained storm drain system and is far less costly than the fused pressure rated HDPE pipe. Sheet C12 calls for 15” HDPE pipe from the Curb Inlet to the CDS
Unit. Our fused HDPE supplier tells us that 15” pipe is not available which makes us believe that the designer intended for us to use the N-12 pipe. Please confirm.
A19: Per client requirements, storm drain pipes need to be fused. If 15” fused pipe is not available, please use the next size up that allows fusing.
