About this file

This document contains the 2024-2025 State Price Quote Specification for Type A gas and propane school buses in Washington state. The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) is requesting price quotes from vendors interested in selling school buses to school districts in the state. The specification details the required chassis, body, and accessibility features for both non-lift and lift-equipped gas and propane buses, including seating capacity, alternator, axles, brakes, doors, engine, fuel tank, lighting, transmission, and wheelchair accommodations. Vendors must identify the specific items they are bidding to establish the state cost. The document also includes optional district-supported features such as air conditioning, alternate fuel, backup alarms, color, steering, and video camera systems.

The price quotes will not result in contracts, but will be published in a list that school districts can use to place orders directly with dealers. Quotes must be valid for 30 days after delivery to the school district, without sales tax. Vendors must provide information on service and parts availability, as well as warranty details for the chassis, engine, transmission, and body.
