About this file

This document is an Amendment II to Solicitation 1333ND25QNB030052 for FPGA Based Board Design Services issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The amendment addresses several vendor questions regarding a board design project involving a Zynq System on Module (SOM). Key clarifications include: NIST will review deliverables within 3 weeks, provide the Avnet Ultrazed AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-G, and will not require vendors to include SOM and socket costs in their proposal. The vendor is responsible for testing power sequencing, continuity, and signal integrity of the PCB design, while NIST will handle additional motherboard testing with sockets. The amendment emphasizes a collaborative approach to the project, with firmware for interface testing available directly from the SOM vendor's website, and confirms there are no size constraints for the main PCB.

1333ND25QNB030052 - Amendment II:

The purpose of this amendment is to address vendor questions received and provide the Governments response as follows:

Question: The solicitation states that NIST will review/accept each deliverable within 3 weeks of receipt, however, the Schedule of Deliverables does not account for this review time. Should the duration (due date) for each deliverable assume that it begins after acceptance of the previous deliverable?

Answer: The Government shall review each deliverable and provide a response within 3 weeks from the date of the deliverable.

Question: Section 1.4 states that the SOM and memory chip mounting socket will be provided as part of the contract. Just to confirm, they will be provided by NIST and do not need to be included in our costing, correct?

Answer: Yes. Please do not include the cost of SOM and the sockets, NIST will provide them to the vendor.

Question: What is the exact model number of the Zynq SOM being used?

Answer: AES-ZU3EG-1-SOM-G (Avnet Ultrazed SOM) https://www.avnet.com/wps/portal/us/products/avnet-boards/avnet-board-families/ultrazed/ultrazed-eg/ultrazed-eg-board-family Question: Are there any size constraints for the main PCB?

Answer: No size restraints

Question: Will NIST be providing any firmware for testing the interfaces on the main PCB, or will the vendor need to write the firmware themselves?

Answer: Firmware necessary to test SOM can be directly downloaded from the SOM vendor's website Question: Do you foresee the testing and integration process being collaborative?

Answer: Any additional testing of the motherboard with the sockets will be tested by NIST. However, power sequencing, continuity, and signal integrity must be tested by the PCB designer. NIST expects the work to be very collaborative and provide our support when needed.

All other solicitation terms and conditions remain unchanged.
