About this file
This document is an ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) review letter dated 25 August 2017 for drawings related to the NOAA vessel THOMAS JEFFERSON (Hull 1169). The letter reviews two specific drawings submitted by Halter Marine Inc. on 11 July 2017: a Booklet of General Plans (Drawing No. TJ-085-002, Revision F) and a Doors, Hatches, Windows and Airports drawing (Drawing No. 625-6634893, Revision J).
ABS reviewed these drawings for compliance with their Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels Under 90 Meters in Length (2017). The drawings were approved, with the Booklet of General Plans being filed for reference only and the Doors, Hatches, Windows and Airports drawing being formally stamped "Approved". The vessel is a 190'-0" special purpose vessel flagged in the United States, and electronic copies of the reviewed documents are available through the ABS Eagle Construct Engineering Manager Web Portal. The letter includes warnings about export control restrictions and distribution limitations, typical for technical maritime documentation.
