a. 3.9.3.3 Can you confirm that you want 10 UT shots per each spool piece? There are 84 skin valves listed for overhaul, so according to this paragraph there would be 84 spool pieces, requiring 10 UT shots each (840 UTs total), which seems excessive.

b. 3.9.3.12 For all valves listed 2” and below, are you sure that you want these all of these to be monel trimmed?

a. Not every valve is actually a “sea valve”, see the docking plan for the overboard discharges and seachest.

b. The 2” gate / globe valves should be Monel trimmed the other types and sizes valves can be Bronze or stainless similar to as removed.

(Item 3.18)

a. 3.18.4.1 Provide the serial number for the strainer.

b. 3.18.7.2 Provide material and pipe diameter for this pipe as wrought iron has been discontinued according to note 4.

c. 3.18.8.4 Provide the material for the Sch 40 2” pipe as this appears to be listed as wrought iron (no longer used) or galvanized steel.

d. 3.18.9 For the piping modification, please provide specs for all the new desired equipment in red on the sketch (tees, ball valve, camlocks, hose, etc.).

a. The serial number on the strainer could not be located.

b. The piping in this location is copper nickel.

c. The piping in this location is copper nickel.

d. The intention is for the materials selected to meet ABS requirements for the intended service.

The only specified requirements are for flow rate of the pump and the general layout of the system.

(Item 3.21)

a. Please provide a square footage estimate for the two areas receiving decking, or provide a drawing.

a. Section 3.21.3.4 misstate the spaces requiring flooring. The title of the section is the correct spaces requiring flooring. The spaces require approximately 160 square feet of new flooring.

(Items 3.10 and 3.14)

a. Paragraph 3.10.3.2.1 in item 3.10 states to prepare (blast) the void but I think you meant to write bilge. Paragraphs 3.10.3.2.1 and

3.10.3.4 are already covered in item 3.14 paragraph 3.14.4. Therefore, the work to blast and paint the bilge is covered by 3.14 and the scope of work in item 3.10 is only to inspect the steering gear bilge. Can you confirm this?

Correct. This is a bilge not a void. The blast in

3.10.3.2.1 is intended to remove the lose paint and rust to allow for inspection. 3.10.3.4 requires the prep and paint to be complete by item 3.14. This was to prevent double charging for painting this space.

(Item 3.17)

a. In respect to WI 3.17 ECDIS: We contact Mackay Marine as per the spec.

Mackay states that model that they cannot service as they have no Tech Rep available. They recommend Wartsila.

Can you provide a Wartsila contact or other Tech Rep for this system?

a. Wartsilla is the parent company for TRANSAS. We recommend contacting Wartsilla and discussing availability of tech reps. If that is unsuccessful, Beier Radio in Louisiana is a TRANSAS installer and would be an acceptable choice.
