Question 1:
Item 5.4 Deck Covering 634-1B_Deck Coverings state that the underlayment is covered with electrogalvanized sheet metal. Can you please confirm? If the flooring does have sheet metal on the existing flooring, are we to include new sheet metal?
Answer 1:
There is no sheet metal installed over underlayment. They will not be required to include any sheet metal.
Question 2:
Item 5.2 Section 7.1.5 Thermal & Pipe insulation – What is the existing type of thermal insulation (3” foil faced, 3” mylar face, 3” canvas faced, unfaced.)? If the type remains unknown we will account for 32 square feet of 3” foil faced mineral wool What is the size of the piping insulation and does it have a certain type of lagging on it? How much linear feet of piping insulation is needed?
Answer 2:
Use assumption described above. Exact amount of piping will be determined by design in paragraph 7.1.2. Assume budget of $10000 for this aspect of the work item.
Question 3:
Item 5.5 Section 7.5 – Is there a door schedule available with sizes, frame descriptions and hardware specifics? Can we use different brand doors?
Answer 3:
“Missing Refs FY21 DD Rev 1” in Amendment 0003. “Joiner door and window schedule”
Question 4:
For Item 5.5.7.3 – there should be a drawing available titled joiner doors list that shows fire rating, locking function, orientation, venting, etc. Going to need that drawing to bid this item. The company that made the original doors has been bought out by MML Marine.
Answer 4:
“Missing Refs FY21 DD Rev 1” in Amendment 0003. “Joiner door and window schedule”
Question 5:
While reviewing Amendment #3, I came to question number 14 regarding the minimum keel block height. Due to draft restrictions in the river, we are limited in are keel blocking height. I see the main cause for this large keel blocking requirement is due to the transducer maintenance. We have done work in the past with a similar requirement and we can position the vessel in such a way where the transducer maintenance is still performed with the minimum height threshold it needs but the blocking would remain at our maximum of 2’. Is this something that could be feasible?
Answer 5:
No.
Question 6:
Our question is 2.1 NF One-Line Electrical Diagram drawing number NF-320-008 the only drawing available? Can you provide the whole ships electrical power one-line drawing? We are having extreme difficulty in estimating that particular work item.
Answer 6:
See Electrical drawings attached Amendment 0005.
