About this file
This technical specification document outlines requirements for HVAC Power Ventilators for the USDA APHIS PPQ Moore Airfield rehabilitation project located in Edinburg, TX, scheduled for 2025. The document details specifications for two primary ventilation equipment types: ceiling-mounted ventilators and in-line centrifugal fans, with acceptable manufacturers including ACME Engineering, Carnes Company HVAC, Loren Cook Company, New York Blower Company, Penn Ventilation, and Greenheck Fan Corp. Key technical requirements include steel housing with acoustic insulation, centrifugal wheels directly mounted on motor shafts, integral backdraft dampers, and optional accessories like variable-speed motor controllers and vibration isolators.
The specification provides comprehensive installation, startup, and quality control requirements, mandating that a factory-authorized service representative perform startup services, verify proper installation and operation, and train the owner's maintenance personnel. Critical installation aspects include proper mounting (suspended from structure using steel wire or metal straps), electrical and control connections, damper adjustments, and thorough testing to ensure proper motor rotation, fan wheel operation, and overall system performance. The document emphasizes compliance with various standards including NFPA, ASHRAE, AMCA, and NEMA regulations for electrical components, fan performance, and sound ratings.
