About this file
This document is an asbestos survey report for the USDA APHIS Facility Air Hanger located at 22675 N Moorfield Road in Edinburg, Texas. AAMECC LLC, a Texas Department of State Health Services Licensed Asbestos Consultant Agency, conducted a limited asbestos survey on May 3, 2019, collecting bulk samples from various building materials including floor tiles, mastic, drywall, ceiling tiles, window caulking, roof material, and roof flashing.
Laboratory analysis by J3 Resources, Inc. using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) revealed asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in two specific locations: the 12"x12" floor tile with black mastic in the Men's Rest Room and West Side Office areas (containing 2% chrysotile), and the interior window caulking (containing 3% chrysotile). The report recommends that under current federal NESHAPS and Texas Asbestos Health Protection Rules, all regulated ACM must be removed or managed before any demolition or renovation activities, with proper notification submitted at least 10 working days prior to the project start date.

Scott Ward, Ph.D. Lab Director This report relates only to the materials tested. This report is for the exclusive use of the addressed client and shall not be reproduced except in full, without written approval by J3 Resources, Inc. (J3). Samples are analyzed according to the methods listed above and are subject to the inherent limitations of PLM and interference of matrix components. Reporting limit for the above method is a function of the quantity of sample analyzed, matrix interference, sample preparation, fiber size, and distribution. Asbestos may be detected in concentrations of <1% by area if sufficient material is analyzed. J3 recommends TEM confirmation of soils, vermiculite and non-friable organically bound materials (NOB) reported as None Detected or < 1% Asbestos by PLM. All samples received in good condition unless otherwise noted. This report shall not be used to claim product approval, certification, or endorsement by NVLAP, NIST, or any agency of the federal government.
