About this file
This is Addendum #2 for the Oregon Department of Corrections' solicitation #S-29100-00012629 for the OSP Boiler Plant Fire Escape project. The addendum provides clarifications and responses to seven specific contractor questions regarding structural details, construction methods, and painting requirements. Key questions addressed include how the ceiling connects with steel sash windows, how new wall structures will be anchored, support for window and concrete areas during construction, and verification of lead or asbestos presence. The document also clarifies that if a geotechnical engineer is required, they would be at the contractor's expense, and confirms that the front of stair treads should be painted safety red.
The addendum requires bidders to sign and return the document by the bid closing date and time, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection. While this document does not provide comprehensive project details, it is part of the bidding process for a fire escape construction project at the Oregon State Penitentiary. The addendum represents a material change to the Invitation to Bid (ITB) and provides critical technical clarifications that potential contractors must review and acknowledge before submitting their final bid proposal.
