About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 1240LU26Q0068, "Seed Orchard Disconnect and Electrical Life Safety Rehab."
The document addresses four clarification questions from potential contractors regarding project specifications and requirements. Key technical clarifications include: excavation work from the pole to the existing concrete pad presents no special concerns; both pump panels and electrical panels must use NEMA Type 3R rating; and the 4-inch conduit riser must run up the pole to the transformer rather than directly from the meter to the disconnect, as the meter is a CT meter. The government explicitly declined a contractor proposal to substitute galvanized 3-inch pipe and stainless-steel strut and fasteners for treated wood and plywood, stating no changes to the provided specifications will be considered for quoting purposes. This document serves as binding clarification for all quoters and establishes the technical parameters contractors must follow when submitting proposals.

Questions and Answers 2
1) Anything to be concerned with during the excavation from pole to exiting concrete pad?
No
2) Are the Pump Panels the same as the electrical panels in rating?
Yes, use a NEMA Type 3R for the Electrical Pannel and use a NEMA Type 3R for pump panel.
3) Would the government consider the following change? use galvanized 3" pipe & stainless-steel strut & fasteners instead of treated wood & plywood and for longevity.
The government will not consider any changes to the specifications provided for quoting purposes.
4) The drawing shows coming from the meter to the disconnect but the meter is a CT meter so the 4" conduit riser needs to run up the pole to the transformer to be connected?
That is correct. Yes, we will have to run the conduit up to the transformer.
