Questions and Answers
1) Does Bacon Davis apply?
Yes
2) Is there any need for concern about the excavation from existing power pole to the current panel holding the three Starter Boxes ?
As Built Drawings and there is no underground utilities in the current line of proposed excavation.
3) Are we keeping the existing Meter on the Idaho County Light and Power Pole.
Yes, unless it would be required to change or upgrade to be within regulatory guidelines.
4) The 150 hp Motor and Control Panel (starter box). It will be maintained as is and be considered as an optional item.
There’s future plans are to remove the 150 hp motor and install a Variable Frequency Drive Motor and 25-50 HP Pump. If the option is exercised the new panel would have a service sized to the 50 HP pump and left unconnected.
5) Do we want to keep the existing 25 hp motor and have it be compatible with the new starter box (control panel) utilizing the existing “high / low” control rods.
Yes, the Existing 25 HP pump will remain and if the option is exercised it will need all the electrical to make it work.
6) When are the bids Due?
Bids are due 07/22/2026 at noon Pacific time.
7) Keeping the Idaho County Light and Power Meter?
Yes
8) Keeping big motor in place for now but not going to use it?
Yes
9) Do we need to use a type 4 fused disconnect and MCCs or pump panels. NEMA 4 in the disconnect is a 4X switch ( stainless steel ). Or Can we use a NEMA 3-R since no corrosive materials are nearby?
The site conditions have been reviewed and suppliers have been consulted and, yes, a NEMA type 3R is sufficient for this project. The reason for the Type 4 Specification was the site gets very dusty and could have water splashed on the panels from pump malfunctions a Type 3R panel will work.
