About this file
This document is a Solicitation Addendum (Number 120488 O3) issued by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) on March 4, 2025, providing questions and answers related to a solicitation for annual fire sprinkler system and fire extinguisher inspections. The addendum addresses 22 specific questions from potential bidders regarding the scope of work, including inquiries about the quantity and types of fire sprinkler systems, equipment configurations, inspection requirements, and clarifications on previous documentation. Key responses direct bidders to refer to NDCS Attachment B (Annual Fire Sprinkler Inspection Reports) for most detailed information, and notably remove a previous requirement to inspect heat detectors.
The document reveals that the solicitation seeks comprehensive fire safety services across multiple correctional facilities, with vendors required to review detailed annual inspection reports to understand the full scope of systems and equipment. A significant update includes the posting of a Cost Proposal to the state website, and clarification that heat detectors are no longer part of the inspection requirements. The solicitation maintains its original March 25, 2025, 2:00 p.m. CST opening date, and emphasizes that bidders should consistently check the State Purchasing Bureau website for all addenda and amendments. The document is part of a procurement process that requires detailed technical understanding of fire safety systems in correctional environments, with responses carefully crafted to provide guidance while maintaining specificity about information sources.

location. Equipment that is associated to each fire sprinkler system that would need to be inspected annually should be on each annual inspection report.
The equipment provided in the 120488 03 excel sheet for fire sprinkler systems in each location only provides that there is a wet/dry/pre-action/deluge system. But it does not include how many systems there are, or other equipment associated to the systems, such as FDC’s , backflow preventers, fire pumps, etc. All details would be found in previous annual inspection report.

28 The document mentions 17 heat detectors to be inspected. What locations have heat detectors that would need to be inspected at the time of the sprinkler inspection? (This would normally be completed at the time of the fire alarm inspection).
Heat Detectors do not need to be inspected. We have revised the RFP to remove this provision.
22. N. Solicitation requirements
12 In regards to the “cost sheet”, will a cost sheet be provided? Or should the bidder create their own cost sheet? (excel, pdf, etc.)?
