About this file
This document is a Solicitation Addendum for RFP 120488 O3 issued by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), addressing questions and answers related to an annual fire sprinkler and fire extinguisher inspection services contract. The solicitation seeks a qualified vendor to perform comprehensive annual inspections, testing, maintenance, and services for fire sprinkler systems across multiple correctional facilities, with the bid opening scheduled for March 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST. Bidders are directed to reference NDCS Attachment B (Annual Fire Sprinkler Inspection Reports) for detailed system information, including quantities of equipment such as fire pumps, switches, valves, and connections.
The addendum reveals several key modifications to the original solicitation, including the removal of heat detector inspection requirements and the posting of a cost proposal document to the website. Potential bidders are advised to thoroughly review the attachment for specific details about fire protection systems at each location, as the original Excel sheet only provided basic system type information. The state is seeking comprehensive inspection services that cover various fire protection equipment, with an emphasis on detailed system documentation and thorough annual assessments of the correctional facilities' fire safety infrastructure.

location. Equipment that is associated to each fire sprinkler system that would need to be inspected annually should be on each annual inspection report.
The equipment provided in the 120488 03 excel sheet for fire sprinkler systems in each location only provides that there is a wet/dry/pre-action/deluge system. But it does not include how many systems there are, or other equipment associated to the systems, such as FDC’s , backflow preventers, fire pumps, etc. All details would be found in previous annual inspection report.
20. V. Project description and Scope of work
28 The document mentions 17 heat detectors to be inspected. What locations have heat detectors that would need to be inspected at the time of the sprinkler inspection? (This would normally be completed at the time of the fire alarm inspection).
Heat Detectors do not need to be inspected. We have revised the RFP to remove this provision.
