About this file
This document is a Solicitation Addendum (120488 O3) from the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) dated March 4, 2025, providing questions and answers for a solicitation to be opened on March 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST. The addendum addresses 22 specific questions related to fire sprinkler system inspections across NDCS facilities, with responses consistently directing bidders to refer to NDCS Attachment B (Annual Fire Sprinkler Inspection Reports) for detailed information. Key clarifications include removing the requirement to inspect heat detectors and confirming that a Cost Proposal has been posted to the website.
The addendum indicates that bidders seeking comprehensive details about fire sprinkler systems should review the Annual Fire Sprinkler Inspection Reports, which will provide specifics on system types, equipment quantities, and associated components such as fire department connections, backflow preventers, fire pumps, and other critical infrastructure. The document notes that the previously provided Excel sheet only indicates basic system types (wet/dry/pre-action/deluge) without providing granular details about system quantities or associated equipment. By referencing the annual inspection reports, potential vendors can obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the inspection requirements across NDCS facilities.

location. Equipment that is associated to each fire sprinkler system that would need to be inspected annually should be on each annual inspection report.
The equipment provided in the 120488 03 excel sheet for fire sprinkler systems in each location only provides that there is a wet/dry/pre-action/deluge system. But it does not include how many systems there are, or other equipment associated to the systems, such as FDC’s , backflow preventers, fire pumps, etc. All details would be found in previous annual inspection report.
20. V. Project description and Scope of work
28 The document mentions 17 heat detectors to be inspected. What locations have heat detectors that would need to be inspected at the time of the sprinkler inspection? (This would normally be completed at the time of the fire alarm inspection).
Heat Detectors do not need to be inspected. We have revised the RFP to remove this provision.
22. N. Solicitation requirements
12 In regards to the “cost sheet”, will a cost sheet be provided? Or should the bidder create their own cost sheet? (excel, pdf, etc.)?
