About this file
The document is a General E-Signature Agreement from the County of Bergen, New Jersey, addressing electronic signatures and transactions. The agreement implements provisions from the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act) and the New Jersey Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), which authorize state and local government agencies to use electronic forms, filing, and signatures for conducting official business with the public as of June 26, 2001.
The agreement requires vendors to provide an authorized individual's signature that will be valid for one year from the date of signing. It allows the signature to serve as an official signature for submitting bids, requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), or other offers to participating local units. To be valid, parties must demonstrate intent and consent to conduct business electronically, and an affirmative signature must be created with an accompanying record. The document provides spaces for the authorized individual to include their name, title, phone number, email, and signature, with the understanding that the signature will be used to represent the vendor in official business transactions.
