About this file

This document outlines the minimum insurance requirements for a catering services contract with the Broward County Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The contract calls for a vendor to provide three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) to approximately 40-50 BARC clients, with meals delivered in standard 12" x 20" stainless steel steam table pans. Meals must comply with National dietary guidelines and include weekly menus submitted to the Nutrition Manager in advance. Lunch and dinner meals must include desserts within FDA-referenced portion standards, and the vendor must accommodate therapeutic diets and allergies as communicated by BARC. The vendor may also be required to provide beverages and snacks upon request, with all deliveries made to BARC's Fort Lauderdale location.

The insurance requirements mandate that the contractor maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability coverage of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage (waivable if no driving is involved), and Excess Liability/Umbrella coverage to supplement minimum requirements. Liquor Liability coverage is required unless waived if no alcoholic beverages are served. Workers' Compensation coverage at statutory limits and Employers Liability coverage of $100,000 per accident are mandatory. Broward County must be named as an additional insured, with the contractor's insurance providing primary coverage. The contractor is responsible for all deductibles, with a maximum deductible of $10,000 on property coverage. The County must receive 30 days' written notice of cancellation or 10 days' notice for non-payment, and for claims-made policies, evidence of insurance must be maintained for three years after contract completion.
