About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Stove Prairie Campground Gate Replacement project issued by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service.

The project scope involves disposal and replacement of a broken 32-foot double-lane closure gate at Stove Prairie Landing in the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland. The existing gate serves as a seasonal closure device spanning the entire width of a double-lane roadway using two individual gates with a center locking mechanism. The contractor must furnish all management, labor, equipment, supervision, tools, materials, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The project comprises two base line items: (1) Mobilization (lump sum), and (2) Replacement of 32-foot double-lane gate (lump sum). Gate installation requirements include site preparation, removal of existing gate and posts, disposal of removed materials at state-approved facilities, surveying for level installation, excavation, concrete bedding and pouring for holding and support posts, gate installation, backfill, and site restoration. The gate must measure 32 feet center-to-center of structural tubing support with specific dimensional requirements and must be primed and painted Forest Service Brown (FS 30059). Foundation specifications call for 24-inch Sono Tube diameter and 3 feet 6 inches tall with minimum 4 feet of structural tubing support above road surface. The contractor must submit a schedule, materials submittals (gate drawings, concrete information, object markers), staging area plan, traffic control plan, and accident prevention plan at least 14 days before construction begins. The government furnishes Yale locks and seed. Invoices must be submitted via the Department of Treasury's Invoice Processing Platform (IPP) with payment due within 30 days of receipt. The Contracting Officers Representative is Juan Londono (juan.londono@usda.gov). The project site is located at 16500 Poudre Canyon Road, Bellvue, Colorado.

This gate totals 32’, spanning the entire width of the double lane by using two individual gates on either side with a locking mechanism securing the end of both gates in the middle of the roadway. There are two posts on either side of the road that hold the gate and provide the hinging mechanism and there are two other posts on both sides that provide support for the end of both gates when the road is open.
