About this file

This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document for the Pool Resurfacing project at Topeekeegee Yugnee (T.Y.) Park, issued by Broward County's Parks and Recreation Division. The project involves resurfacing the pool at Castaway Island Water Park located at 3300 North Park Road, Hollywood, Florida. The contractor must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, along with auto liability coverage of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage if driving is required for project performance. Additional required coverage includes workers' compensation at statutory limits, employers liability of $500,000 per accident, excess/umbrella liability to supplement minimum requirements, and pollution/environmental liability with an installation floater if builder's risk or property insurance is not carried, with a maximum deductible of $10,000 on completed value basis.

The contractor is responsible for all insurance deductibles, and Broward County must be named as an additional insured on all liability policies with primary coverage that does not require contribution from the County. A waiver of subrogation applies in favor of Broward County. The contractor must provide 30 days' written notice of policy cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment cancellation. For claims-made policies, insurance must remain active and proof of coverage must be maintained for a minimum of three years following contract completion.
