Section 1. Project Overview/Background
GLWA is seeking an experienced vendor (“Contractor”) for the WRRF Pump Station 2 VFDs upgrade. The project includes replacement of sewage pump VFDs, rewinding of sewage pump motors, and electrical distribution system upgrades.
Pump Station 2 receives its influent flow from the Oakwood Interceptor and North Interceptor East Arm (NIEA). It has two (2) wet wells with a total of five (5) sluice gates and five (5) stop logs to control the influent flow from its two (2) sources. Wet wells 1 and 2 receive their flow from the Oakwood Interceptor and NIEA, respectively. Pump Station 2 lifts this wastewater up to a level from which eight (8) centrifugal pumps can pump it out of the wet wells and it can flow by gravity through the screening facility. Five (5) of the eight (8) pumps are variable speed pumps with VFDs. The VFDs are used to control the flow of the wastewater to achieve the required amount of flow.
The scope of Work is described in Exhibit A of Attachment No. 1.
Section 2. Minimum Qualifications
1. The Contractor shall demonstrate it has completed a minimum of three (3) projects within the last ten (10) years with experience comparable to the Work described in this solicitation.
2. The Contractor shall demonstrate specific, successful experience with installing, integrating, troubleshooting, and commissioning the following medium voltage power systems: large horsepower motors & VFD's (≥1000HP), transformers, main-tie-main switchgear, protective relay testing & programming, and motor/pump instrumentation systems.
3. The Contractor shall demonstrate specific, successful experience with procurement and coordination and integration of packaged electrical equipment at large raw wastewater pumping and treatment facilities.
4. The Contractor shall demonstrate specific, successful experience with planning and implementing large, complex, multi-phased retrofit construction projects requiring integration with existing systems and equipment and intricate pre and post modification testing requirements.
