The SLCDPU seeks qualified vendors—either manufacturers or manufacturer-authorized local suppliers/distributors—to provide a factory-assembled Motor Control Center and Transformer with digital electronic controls, completely operable and conforming to all contract specifications. The equipment will be installed by a general contractor under the oversight of AECOM, which has been retained to perform final design, bidding, and construction management services. Competitive bids must be submitted electronically through the Utah Public Procurement Place (U3P) website by 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Bidders must provide complete technical specifications, warranty information, descriptive literature, references, maintenance summaries, and a signed City Ethics Statement. The bid validity period is forty-five days after submission, and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted. The award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder via written purchase order.
The equipment price must include all costs associated with delivery to the facility located at 2020 N Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, 84116, encompassing materials, freight, labor, training, insurance, transportation, and related costs with no additional charges permitted. Bidders must submit a fabrication and delivery schedule indicating guaranteed lead times for shop drawing submittal and equipment delivery to the project site. Local warranty service and parts must be available and capable of responding to the City's needs within twenty-four hours of contact, with service technicians able to respond on-site or the facility able to work on equipment at their location; failure to comply may result in bid rejection. The warranty period extends for twenty-four months from startup or thirty months from delivery, whichever occurs first, covering defects in materials and workmanship. Additional requirements include manufacturer qualifications demonstrating essential parts availability, delivery of replacement parts within five working days, and provision of factory-trained personnel for technical service. The bidder must provide spare parts, complete specifications and literature, quality control procedures, factory testing, on-site startup support, commissioning/testing support, training days, first-year service inspection days, and confirmation that all travel, labor, and technician costs are included in the bid price.
