About this file
This is a Certification of Legal Work Status form required by the City of St. George, Utah for contractors bidding on the Country Club Water Tank Invitation for Bid (IFB). The project involves the construction of a 2.5 million gallon concrete water tank, including site preparation, water mains, and associated tank infrastructure. The City of St. George reserves the right to reject any or all submissions or waive any formality or technicality as it deems in the city's interest.
All contractors and subcontractors must comply with federal immigration employment verification requirements under 8 USC 1324a and are required to use the E-Verify system to verify employment eligibility of all employees. Contractors must obtain an E-Verify Company Unique Number prior to contract execution and submit signed Certification of Legal Work Status forms from all subcontractors before any work is performed. The contract requires a bid bond equal to five percent of the bid amount, issued by a surety company licensed in Utah, and a 100 percent performance bond covering labor and materials. Violation of immigration employment verification requirements constitutes grounds for unilateral contract termination, potential suspension from future City projects for one year, and contractor liability for all associated costs including damages and attorney fees.
