About this file

The document is a Business Request for GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act) Business Confidentiality Claim form from Salt Lake City Corporation's Purchasing & Contracts Management Division. The form provides a mechanism for contractors or private providers to identify and request protection of confidential business records under Utah Code § 63G-2-305, specifically for trade secrets and commercial financial information that could potentially be subject to public disclosure.

The form allows a business to submit details about confidential information, including company contact information, the specific records to be protected, and reasons for the confidentiality claim. It notes that submitting a confidentiality claim does not guarantee protection if the government receives a records request. The form includes sections for specifying which pages, paragraphs, and reasons for confidentiality, and requires the claimant to provide a concise statement supporting the claim. The form also asks whether a public (redacted) copy of the records will be provided, with the default selection being "no".

Business Request for GRAMA Business Confidentiality Claim For use by contractors or private providers to identify protected records or information

Note: Utah Code § 63G-2-305(1) states that trade secrets can be protected if the person submitting the trade secret provides the governmental entity with a confidentiality claim. Likewise, Utah Code § 63G-2-305(2) states that commercial financial information can be protected if disclosure could reasonably be expected to result in unfair competitive injury to the person submitting the information, and that person has provided a confidentiality claim. Confidentiality claims are described in Utah Code § 63G-2-309. A claim must include a concise statement of reasons supporting the claim and must be submitted with the information requested to be protected.
