About this file
This document is the Rough Carpentry specifications (Section 061000) for the Chicopee Armory Rehabilitation project in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The project involves wood blocking, cants, nailers, wood furring and grounds, and plywood backing panels. The specifications detail the requirements for pressure-treated and fire-retardant-treated lumber, as well as fasteners to be used. The project is being bid as a general contractor opportunity for the state of Massachusetts.
The specifications outline the use of materials that comply with industry standards and treatment requirements. The rough carpentry work must be installed to required levels and lines, with framing meeting industry standards. Fire-retardant-treated plywood backing panels are required, with the classification marking visible. Fasteners must be selected to prevent damage or exposure of opposite surfaces. No pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, or funding details are provided in this technical specification document.
