In order to meet the needs of their clients and comply with federal civil rights statues, specifically Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI); Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504); and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. 12131) must provide Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) for ASL or foreign languages. The duration of assignments may vary depending on the need of the agency. Some of the buying agencies provide emergency services to clients. In some cases, there is minimal advance notice and contractors may be asked to provide interpretation services on-demand.
At a minimum, Bidders must be able to provide VRI for ASL.
The State on occasion may need VRI services to interpret foreign languages, but it is not a requirement of this bid, nor will it be a basis for the award resulting from this bid.
