About this file
This is an Addendum 2 to Section 03007 of the specifications for the Upper ER Sanitary Sewer Improvements–Phase 2 project (RFB-26-52921) in Georgia, addressing limited cast-in-place concrete, grouting, and flowable fill (CLSM) work. The scope includes doghouse manhole bases and foundations, non-shrink cementitious grout for manhole frames, grade rings, benching, and patching, and abandonment/void filling using flowable fill and grout plugs where indicated on the drawings. The specifications reference industry standards including ACI 301 and 318, ASTM standards for concrete and grout materials, and Georgia Department of Transportation specifications. Contractors are required to submit mix designs for cast-in-place concrete and CLSM, manufacturer's installation instructions for grout, and proposed means and methods for abandonment/void filling with any required staging or vents. Submittals must conform to Section 01300 requirements, and measurement and payment procedures are governed by Section 01150.
Products specified include ready-mixed concrete with a minimum compressive strength of 3,000 psi at 28 days with air entrainment for freeze-thaw exposure, non-shrink cementitious grout conforming to ASTM C1107 and CRD-C621 with minimum compressive strength of 2,400 psi in 48 hours and 7,000 psi in 28 days, and flowable fill/CLSM with a consistency of 6 to 8 inches slump and minimum 28-day compressive strength of 100 psi for excavatable material or minimum 125 psi for non-excavatable material. Field quality control procedures require delivery tickets for all concrete and CLSM loads, slump testing, and compressive strength testing as directed by the Engineer. All work must be performed in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and approved mix designs, with service line reconnection to be completed within 24 hours and all waste materials and cementitious discharge to be removed from the site and prevented from entering storm drainage systems.

Avoid cold joints.
C. Field testing/logging: obtain delivery tickets and maintain records including location of placement and slump as required by the Contract Documents. Slump testing and cylinders shall be performed when required.
D. The Contractor shall complete reconnection of all service lines within 24 hours.
3.03 NON-SHRINK GROUT PLACEMENT
A. Surface preparation and placement shall follow manufacturer’s installation instructions (mixing, handling, surface preparation, and placing).
B. Protect grout from adverse temperature conditions and premature drying consistent with manufacturer instructions.
3.04 FLOWABLE FILL / CLSM PLACEMENT (ABANDONMENT GROUT / VOID
FILL)
A. CLSM shall be placed with self-compacting/self-leveling characteristics suitable to flow into intended voids/openings.
B. Consistency shall be such that the material flows easily into openings between the pipe and the lower portion of the trench (as applicable).
C. Where trenches are on steep slope, a stiffer mix may be required to prevent CLSM from flowing down the trench (as applicable).
