About this file
This is a Bid Form Addendum 2 document for the City of Marietta and Board of Lights and Water Upper ER Sanitary Sewer Improvements—Phase 2 project. The project encompasses significant infrastructure work including 2,450 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) sanitary sewer installation via open cut, 532 linear feet of pipe burst conversion from existing 8-inch pipe to 12-inch HDPE, 811 linear feet of pipe burst conversion from existing 10-inch pipe to 12-inch HDPE, 60 linear feet of 24-inch steel casing, 26 sanitary sewer manholes to be replaced or rehabilitated (232 vertical feet total), bypass pumping, and comprehensive site restoration. The bid form includes 66 distinct line items plus five allowance categories, with quantities specified for materials ranging from mobilization and temporary facilities to asphalt paving repairs (6,100 square yards), concrete curb and gutter removal/replacement (270 linear feet), seeding and sodding (1,800 square feet each), and various utility connections and cleanouts. Bidders must commence work within a specified timeline and complete the project within 330 consecutive calendar days, with liquidated damages assessed at $1,000 per calendar day for each phase not completed within the allowed timeframe. The bid must remain valid for 120 calendar days following the scheduled closing time, and bid bonds or certified checks are required in accordance with the Information for Bidders.
Pricing for the project includes unit price bids for all line items, with five allowance categories totaling $185,000: unsuitable backfill replacement ($17,500 and $22,500 for different materials), landscaping and property damage repair ($35,000), utility relocations ($35,000), and owner-initiated miscellaneous work ($75,000). Bidders must submit both base bid and total bid amounts in words and figures, with word amounts governing in cases of discrepancy. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any bidding informalities. Actual quantities are subject to adjustment upon project completion, and bidders acknowledge that increased quantities will be performed at stated unit prices while decreased quantities will result in payment only for work performed with no claim for anticipated profits. Contract execution and bonding must occur within 10 days of award, with failure to do so resulting in forfeiture of the bid bond or certified check to the Owner.
