About this file

This document is an Environmental Management System (EMS) Awareness Training document for contractors working at Tinker Air Force Base (AFB). The training outlines Tinker AFB's environmental management approach, including significant environmental aspects such as hazardous waste generation, air emissions, and storm water management. Key objectives include maintaining compliance with no violations, reducing hazardous waste by 20% by 2020, reducing solid waste by 65% by weight by 2020, and reducing Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) releases by 35% by 2020.

The document requires contractor employees to review the Tinker EMS General Awareness Training PowerPoint slides and annual EMS policy letter. Contractors must certify that all employees physically working on Tinker AFB will view the training slides. Contact information is provided for Mr. Joe Kracke, the EMS Coordinator, for additional assistance. The training emphasizes that environmental compliance and stewardship is the duty of each individual working on the base, with the EMS established in November 2005 and most recently self-declared in conformance on August 30, 2018.
