About this file
This is an Exhibit 5 Specifications document for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) outlining a roof replacement project at the Canyon City Maintenance Station in Canyon City, Oregon. The project involves removal and replacement of the existing roofing system with insulated metal panels (IMPs), including new gutters, downspouts, and accessories. The scope of work includes demolition of the current metal roof and insulation, installation of Kingspan Kingseam or approved equal IMP roofing with R-40 minimum insulation in white color, replacement of the gutter and downspout system, removal of obsolete equipment (three electric exhaust fans, three ridge vents, one water heater B-vent, and a wireless antenna), coordination with a licensed HVAC contractor to replace six unit heater exhaust vents, and installation of new gable trim and flashing. The building is a 41-year-old pre-engineered steel structure with footprint dimensions of approximately 50 feet by 144 feet. Substantial completion is required by October 15, 2026, with final completion by October 30, 2026. The contractor must schedule work at least five business days in advance and coordinate with approximately ten ODOT employees stationed at the facility. Work hours are restricted to weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., excluding weekends and state holidays unless approved otherwise.
The contractor is responsible for all materials, labor, equipment, transportation, permits, and site cleanup. ODOT has notified Grant County Building Department, and the contractor must obtain and pay for both plan review and re-roof permits. BOLI prevailing wage rates apply to the project, and the contractor must submit weekly certified payroll reports as a prerequisite for progress payments. Submittals for insulated metal panels, trim, and gutters/downspouts must be approved by the ODOT Project Manager prior to material ordering and construction commencement. The contractor must provide a one-year installation warranty on all workmanship and all manufacturer warranties applicable to equipment. Prior to final completion, the contractor must provide digital copies of all operations, maintenance, and warranty information, equipment details, final inspection reports signed by authorities having jurisdiction, and signed certification that all subcontractors and suppliers have been paid in full. The ODOT Project Manager, Travis Duby, serves as the primary contact for this project.
