About this file
This document is a Project Schedule and Summary for the 2024 Colorado Avenue Handicap Ramp Improvements project by the Town of Telluride, Colorado. The project involves removing and replacing approximately 750 square yards of 4-inch concrete, 1,300 linear feet of curb and gutter, and 160 tons of hot mix asphalt, with the goal of creating ADA-compliant curb ramps and sidewalks. The project scope includes replacing nine town-supplied lamp posts with 66-inch depth reinforced concrete bases, installing new heat coils, and working across three intersections (Pine, Willow, and Alder Streets), one mid-block crossing (Spruce Street), and an alternate intersection (Aspen Street and Pacific Avenue). Key dates include bid documents being available from April 11, 2024, with bids due on May 1, 2024, contract award on May 7, 2024, and project substantial completion targeted for November 15, 2024, with final completion by December 20, 2024.
The project involves multiple trades including concrete, asphalt, electrical, and plumbing work, with specific time constraints for different work items. For instance, Pine Street improvements must be completed by May 31, 2024, or delayed until September 23, 2024, due to restaurant parklets. Alder Street work must be completed by June 12, 2024, due to a Bluegrass Festival, and Spruce Street work must be finished by July 3, 2024, because of a Fourth of July parade. Work is generally restricted on weekends and during the high tourism period of Mid-June to Mid-September, with Public Works' approval required for working on more than one intersection simultaneously. Contract documents can be obtained from Telluride's Public Works Department or by emailing togren@telluride-co.gov.
