Actions

Vendors has actions for the current result set, individual result cards, and the detail page after you open one record.

Page actions

These actions apply while you are working from Vendors results.

  • View Favorites filters the page to vendors you have saved as favorites.

  • View Featured Vendors filters the page to vendors with featured vendor profile context.

  • Export Search Results exports the current vendor result set after you narrow it to the records you want to review outside GovTribe.

  • Share Search shares the current Vendors result set with another GovTribe user.

  • Similar finds vendor records that resemble the selected vendor. Use it when a vendor's summary, capability narrative, profile context, tags, or past-performance pattern is close to the market you are researching. Similar can be unavailable on individual cards when GovTribe does not have enough similarity context for that vendor.

  • Add Favorite saves the selected vendor to your favorites and updates the favorite count on the card. When the vendor is already saved, the action can appear as Remove Favorite.

Result-level actions

Vendors have profile actions in the header.

  • Favorite: Use the favorite button when you want to save the selected vendor for repeated company, competitor, partner, or supplier research. The count beside the button reflects favorite activity for that vendor profile.

  • Claim this Vendor: Use Claim this Vendor when the selected profile represents your organization and you want to start the vendor-claim workflow.

Vendor profile examples

A Parent or child vendor profile shows where the selected vendor sits in a company family when GovTribe has parent, child, division, or related-entity context. In GovTribe, the header can show Parent/Child next to the UEI so you can compare the selected registration with related vendor records. See the Parent or child vendor example in GovTribe.

Parent or child vendor profiles help you distinguish a selected registration from related vendor records before comparing awards, vehicles, partners, and profile context.

A Certified small business profile shows small-business or SBA certification context when GovTribe has that data for the vendor. In GovTribe, certifications appear in badges on the Overview tab and can help you compare eligibility context with award and vehicle activity. See the Certified small business example in GovTribe.

Certified small-business profiles bring together identifiers, certifications, related records, similar vendors, and GovTribe AI context.

Identifiers and hierarchy

The header shows the vendor name and core identifiers such as UEI. It can also show hierarchy context such as Parent/Child when GovTribe has related vendor records.

For identifier and matching context, see Vendor data type, UEI, and Source identifiers and record matching.

Badges

Badges summarize registration, certification, category, location, and related-record context on the Overview tab.

Vendor detail combines profile actions, identifiers, certification context, related tabs, and GovTribe AI in one profile view.

Useful badge references include SBA Certifications, Self Certified Business Type, Primary Registered NAICS Category, Registration Date, and Expiration Date.

When a badge says Not listed, GovTribe does not have a displayable value for that field on the selected vendor.

GovTribe AI and summaries

GovTribe AI appears when AI is available for the selected vendor and your account can use it. The panel starts GovTribe AI with the vendor as context, so questions can stay grounded in capability, incumbent, partner, customer, award, vehicle, or competitor research.

The summary area can show AI Summary, Website, Twitter, or other profile tabs when GovTribe has generated or source-backed vendor context.

The Overview tab can show Similar Vendors and popular related federal contract awards, federal grant awards, or federal contract vehicles. Use these cards when the vendor profile is the starting point and you need comparable companies or related federal market activity.

Details

Details opens enhanced profile context when GovTribe has it for the selected vendor. The tab can be unavailable when no enhanced profile data is present.

Contacts

Contacts shows people or office contacts GovTribe has associated with the selected vendor. The tab can be empty when the vendor has no contact references, when source material did not provide contact details, or when your account does not have access to the relevant contact context.

For contact search and contact data, see Contacts and Contact data type.

Price Lists

Price Lists shows government-provided files GovTribe has associated with the selected vendor as price-list context. The tab can be empty when GovTribe has no displayable price-list files for that vendor.

For file context, see Government file data type.

Contract Vehicles

Contract Vehicles shows federal contract vehicles connected to the selected vendor. Use it when you need to understand the vendor's access to master buying channels.

For vehicle research, see Federal contract vehicles and Federal contract vehicle data type.

IDV Awards

IDV Awards shows indefinite delivery vehicle awards connected to the selected vendor. Use it to review vendor-specific ordering instruments that sit below master vehicles and above downstream orders.

For IDV research, see Federal contract IDV awards and Federal contract IDV data type.

Contract Awards

Contract Awards shows federal prime contract awards connected to the selected vendor. Use it to review awarded work, values, agencies, dates, and downstream award context.

For award research, see Federal contract awards and Federal contract award data type.

Contract Subawards

Contract Subawards shows reported federal subcontract activity connected to the selected vendor. It can include downstream subcontracting context when GovTribe has reported records for the vendor.

For subcontracting context, see Federal contract sub-award data type.

Grant Awards

Grant Awards shows federal grant awards connected to the selected vendor. Use it when the vendor also appears in assistance-award activity.

For grant award context, see Federal grant award data type.

Grant Subawards

For downstream assistance context, see Federal grant sub-award data type.

Primes

Primes shows prime contractors connected to the selected vendor through partner activity when that context is available. The tab can be unavailable or empty when GovTribe has no displayable prime-contractor relationships for the vendor.

Subs

Subs shows subcontractors connected to the selected vendor through partner activity when that context is available. The tab can be unavailable or empty when GovTribe has no displayable subcontractor relationships for the vendor.

Common questions

For general fixes for too many results, no results, unrelated results, broad Semantic Search matches, or filters that narrowed the search too much, see Troubleshoot search results.

How are Vendors different from awardees, recipients, and subcontractors?

Vendor data type records describe organizations that can appear as companies, suppliers, awardees, recipients, subrecipients, or other market participants. Awardee, recipient, and subcontractor roles depend on the specific award or sub-award relationship. See Vendor, awardee, recipient, and subcontractor roles.

Why should I compare UEI, CAGE, location, and registration dates?

Vendor names can vary across source systems, divisions, DBA names, and registrations. Use identifiers such as UEI, CAGE codes, Location, and registration fields to match a vendor record to outside source context. See Source identifiers and record matching.

How should I use category and certification filters?

Use Primary Registered NAICS Category, Industry Tag, Technology Tag, SBA Certified Business Type, Self Certified Business Type, and certification date filters to narrow vendors by market lane, registration context, and small-business or certification status. See Choosing category systems when you need to decide how category systems fit together.

What does Active mean?

Active narrows Vendors to records whose SAM.gov registration expiration date has not passed. Use Expiration Date directly when you need to review registrations that expire during a specific date range.

How should I use Vendor Hierarchy?

Vendor Hierarchy appears when GovTribe has parent, child, division, or related-entity context for a vendor. Use it to understand how a displayed vendor may connect to a parent company, subsidiary, division, or related registration before comparing UEI, CAGE, location, registration dates, and award history.
