Share a search
Share the current GovTribe query, filters, sort, and search mode with yourself or another GovTribe user so they can open the same result set without rebuilding the search.
Use Share Search when someone needs to open the same GovTribe result set you are reviewing. Instead of describing the search query, filters, sort, and search mode by hand, send the search permalink.
Why share a search
Share Search is useful when you want another person to start from the same search settings:
- Send a teammate a narrowed opportunity, award, vendor, agency, program, category, or file search.
- Email yourself a search before a meeting so you can reopen the same review later.
- Give capture, business development, proposal, or leadership teammates the same result set you used for a market review.
- Keep a conversation focused on one GovTribe search page instead of asking each person to rebuild filters manually.
The link opens the search page with the same query, filters, sort, and search mode. GovTribe records can still update after the link is shared, so the results may reflect newer GovTribe data when the recipient opens it.
Open Share Search
On supported GovTribe search pages, Share Search appears with the other search-page actions near the search bar.
Open a GovTribe search page. Use the page that contains the records or result set you want to share.
Set up the search. Enter your search, add filters, choose a sort, or switch search mode as needed.
Open Share Search. Click Share Search.
Choose a sharing option. Decide how you want to send or copy the search link.
Choose a sharing option
Share Search gives you a few ways to reuse the current search URL.
| Option | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Opens your email client with the search URL in the message body and no preset recipient. | Email the search to yourself or choose a specific person before sending. | |
| Email Account | Opens your email client with the search URL addressed to users on your GovTribe account. This option appears when your account has more than one user. | Send the current search to colleagues who share your GovTribe account. |
| Copy to Clipboard | Copies the search URL so you can paste it somewhere else. | Share the search in Slack, Teams, email, notes, a CRM record, or an internal handoff. |
Review the recipients and message content in your email client before sending. Anyone who opens the link still needs the GovTribe access required for that page and record set.
How the shared link works
GovTribe search URLs include a search ID, shown in the URL as ?searchId=.... That search ID is a permalink to the current search settings.
When someone opens the shared URL, GovTribe uses the search ID to restore the search page, search text, filters, sort, search mode, and other settings captured by that search. The recipient does not need to remember which filters you chose or rebuild the search from screenshots.
Share Search does not create a saved search. It sends or copies a permalink to the current search. See Use saved searches when you want to keep a search in GovTribe, return to it later from your saved-search list, or use saved-search workflows.
