State and local contract vehicle examples
A Statewide vehicle is a contract family or purchasing structure that can support multiple related agreements or awards across a state, cooperative, agency, or buying program. In GovTribe, the vehicle detail page helps you review the vehicle owner, source context, related IDVs or awards, categories, files, contacts, GovTribe AI, and favorite or pursuit actions. See the statewide vehicle example in GovTribe.
A Files and categories vehicle has source attachments or category context that helps explain the buying structure. In GovTribe, those related records appear as detail tabs when contacts, UNSPSC categories, NIGP categories, or files are available. See the files and categories example in GovTribe.
Badges
Badges summarize source fields and connected records on the Overview tab. Many badges include a menu that lets you filter GovTribe search by that value. When a badge says Not listed, GovTribe does not have a displayable value for that field on the selected vehicle.
Use the linked attribute and data type pages for canonical definitions:
Hierarchy
Hierarchy appears when GovTribe can show the selected vehicle with related state and local contract IDVs or awards. Use the hierarchy steps to move from the vehicle to connected downstream records.
Some vehicles do not show related counts because GovTribe does not have displayable IDV or award relationships for the selected vehicle.
GovTribe AI and descriptions
GovTribe AI appears when AI is available for the selected record and your account can use it. The summary and description area can show AI Summary and Description tabs when GovTribe has generated context and source description text for the selected vehicle.
If the selected vehicle has limited source content, the Overview tab may show only the fields GovTribe has available.
Source, contacts, categories, and files
The Source badge tells you whether GovTribe can show source context for the selected vehicle.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| View | GovTribe has source context available from the detail page. |
| No public source available | GovTribe can show the vehicle record, but does not have a public source link to display. |

Common questions
For general fixes for too many results, no results, unrelated results, broad Semantic Search matches, or filters that narrowed the search too much, see Troubleshoot search results.
How are State and Local Contract Vehicles different from IDVs and awards?
State and Local Contract Vehicles are higher-level buying channels, statewide contracts, cooperative purchasing arrangements, master agreements, or contract families. State and Local Contract IDVs are parent ordering agreements under or alongside those vehicles, while State and Local Contract Awards are specific awarded contract records. Use State and Local Contract Opportunities for pre-award solicitations and notices.
What is a state and local contract vehicle?
A state and local contract vehicle is a source-reported purchasing arrangement that can group related contract records. Source wording can include terms such as statewide contract, cooperative purchasing agreement, master agreement, NASPO ValuePoint, term contract, buying channel, or contract family. GovTribe preserves source context while grouping these records as vehicles when they sit above related parent IDVs or awarded work.
How do related IDVs and awards connect to a vehicle?
Vehicles can connect to related State and Local Contract IDVs. Those IDVs can connect to downstream State and Local Contract Awards when GovTribe has enough source context to make the relationship. Not every vehicle has related IDVs, and not every IDV has downstream awards, so use the vehicle detail page and the related record tabs to confirm the chain.
How should I use NIGP and UNSPSC categories?
NIGP Category (NIGP category attribute) and UNSPSC Category (UNSPSC category attribute) both describe products or services, but state and local sources do not apply category systems uniformly. Use category filters to narrow the market, then confirm the title, summary, source text, related IDVs, and buyer context before treating a category match as final. See Choosing category systems.
What is the buyer or vendor on a vehicle?
Use Contract Entity as the source-reported buyer, administrator, or public-sector office on this page. Vendor or awardee names can appear in summaries, descriptions, source records, related IDVs, or downstream awards, but the visible filter menu on this search page does not include a vendor or awardee filter. See Vendor, awardee, recipient, and subcontractor roles.
Why do some vehicles have sparse fields, missing source links, or uneven relationship detail?
State and local source coverage varies by jurisdiction, source system, and record type. Some vehicles include rich descriptions, files, categories, contacts, source links, related IDVs, and downstream award context; others only include a smaller source-provided record. Use Source identifiers and record matching when comparing GovTribe records to outside procurement systems.
