State and local contract IDV examples

A Parent agreement IDV is a state and local contract structure that can support related awards or future orders. In GovTribe, these detail pages help you review the buyer, awardee, award dates, source context, categories, files, and summary content for the selected agreement. See the parent agreement example in GovTribe.

State and local IDV details can show the selected parent agreement with buyer, awardee, source, category, file, GovTribe AI, and description context.

A Files and categories IDV has source attachments or category context that helps explain what the agreement covers. In GovTribe, these records show related tabs when source files, line items, UNSPSC categories, or NIGP categories are available. See the files and categories example in GovTribe.

Files and category tabs help explain the selected IDV when GovTribe has source attachments or classification context.

A Downstream awards IDV is connected to awarded work issued under the selected parent agreement. Use the hierarchy and Contract Awards tab to move from the IDV to related state and local contract awards when they are available. See the downstream awards example in GovTribe.

When downstream award context is available, the IDV page can show related contract award counts and navigation from the selected parent agreement.

Badges

Badges summarize source fields and connected records on the Overview tab. Many badges include a menu that lets you filter GovTribe search by that value. When a badge says Not listed, GovTribe does not have a displayable value for that field on the selected IDV.

Use the linked attribute and data type pages for canonical definitions:

Hierarchy

Hierarchy appears when the selected IDV has parent vehicle, child IDV, or downstream award context. Use hierarchy steps to move from the selected IDV to the related parent structure or connected state and local contract awards.

Hierarchy context helps you move between a selected state and local IDV and related award records when GovTribe has those relationships.

Some IDVs do not show hierarchy because GovTribe does not have a displayable parent or child relationship for the selected record.

GovTribe AI and descriptions

GovTribe AI appears when AI is available for the selected record and your account can use it. The summary and description area can show AI Summary and Description tabs when GovTribe has generated context and source description text for the selected IDV.

If the selected IDV has limited source content, the Overview tab may show only the fields GovTribe has available.

Source, line items, and files

The Source badge tells you whether GovTribe can show source context for the selected IDV.

LabelMeaning
ViewGovTribe has source context available from the detail page.
No public source availableGovTribe can show the IDV record, but does not have a public source link to display.

Use Line Items to review item-level descriptions, quantities, units of measure, and prices when available. Use Files to review source attachments GovTribe has collected for the selected IDV.

UNSPSC Categories

UNSPSC Categories shows UNSPSC category records connected to the selected IDV. The tab can be empty when GovTribe does not have UNSPSC category context for the IDV.

For category search and data, see UNSPSC categories and UNSPSC category data type.

NIGP Categories

NIGP Categories shows NIGP category records connected to the selected IDV. The tab can be empty when GovTribe does not have NIGP category context for the IDV.

For category search and data, see NIGP categories and NIGP category data type.

Line Items

Line Items shows item-level rows connected to the selected IDV. The tab can be empty when the source record did not provide line-item detail.

For line-item context, see Line item data type.

Contract Awards

Contract Awards shows state and local contract awards connected to the selected IDV. The tab can be empty when GovTribe has no connected awards for the IDV or when access is limited.

For awarded work under IDVs, see State and local contract awards and State and local contract award data type.

Files

Files shows source attachments GovTribe has collected for the selected IDV. The tab can be empty when the source record did not include files or when files are unavailable.

For file context, see Government file data type.

Similar IDVs

Similar IDVs shows comparable IDVs GovTribe returns for the selected record. It can be empty when GovTribe does not find comparable records or when access is limited.

Use similar IDVs to move from one relevant parent agreement to comparable buying channels. For the reusable workflow, see Find similar records.

Common questions

For general fixes for too many results, no results, unrelated results, broad Semantic Search matches, or filters that narrowed the search too much, see Troubleshoot search results.

How are State and Local Contract IDVs different from awards and vehicles?

State and Local Contract IDVs are parent ordering agreements, term contracts, vendor-specific parent contracts, or indefinite-delivery records that can sit between a larger state and local contract vehicle and downstream state and local contract awards (State and local contract award attribute). State and local contract awards are the awarded contract records themselves. State and local contract vehicles are higher-level vehicles, purchasing programs, or contract families.

What does State Local Contract Vehicle mean on an IDV result?

State Local Contract Vehicle is the larger source-supplied buying channel, vehicle, contract family, or purchasing program connected to the IDV. The relationship can be absent because not every state or local source supplies a parent vehicle relationship.

How do downstream awards relate to an IDV?

An IDV can have related state and local contract awards (State and local contract award attribute). Use State Local Contract Award when you already know the child award, or open an IDV and review its related awards when you need the downstream activity connected to that parent ordering agreement.

Why do IDV titles use terms like master agreement, term, commodity, or competitive selection?

State and local sources use their own procurement terminology. GovTribe groups these records as state and local IDVs when they behave like parent ordering agreements, vendor-specific parent contracts, or indefinite-delivery structures, but the title can still preserve source terms such as master agreement, term contract, commodity contract, competitive selection, or waiver of competitive selection. See State and local contract data model for the record-structure context.

How should I use NIGP Category and UNSPSC Category?

Use NIGP Category (NIGP category attribute) or UNSPSC Category (UNSPSC category attribute) when the category code or commodity/service family is the requirement. State and local sources do not all use the same category system, so compare category filters with the title, description, line items, source link, and buyer context. See Choosing category systems.

Where are line items for an IDV?

Line items are not shown as a search-page filter or result-card field on this page. Open an IDV result and use its Line Items tab when line-item descriptions, quantities, unit prices, or related NIGP and UNSPSC categories matter. Line items are descriptive source details, not a transaction layer. See Line item data type.

Why are some vendor, value, place, source, or relationship fields missing?

State and local source data is uneven. Some IDVs include source links, line items, files, category detail, parent vehicles, and downstream awards; others only include a smaller source-provided record. The visible search page does not include Awardee, value, city, county, or line-item filters, so use the visible filters first and then open the result when those details matter. Use Source identifiers and record matching when comparing GovTribe records to outside procurement systems.
