UNSPSC 25111911: Boathooks

UNSPSC 25111911 Boathooks is a Commodity code that state and local governments are not currently buying under this classification. The recent opportunities tagged to this code reflect a substantial mismatch between the code's nominal scope and actual procurement activity. The City of Pembroke Pines, Florida has posted three recent IFBs (TS2605, TS2604, and TS2603) for ExaGrid backup storage hardware, Cisco Nexus data center network switches, and replacement ExaGrid hardware—none of which are boathooks or marine equipment of any kind. Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas solicited maintenance supplies and services through IFB 2026105, and Sourcewell (a Minnesota cooperative purchasing vehicle) issued RFP 061626 for law enforcement equipment on behalf of multiple county and regional participants across Washington state and beyond. None of these opportunities align with the boathook commodity definition.

The code shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The opportunities in the dataset appear to have been misclassified or tagged incorrectly by the issuing bodies or data provider. Firms pursuing state and local contracts in marine equipment, recreational boating supplies, or tactical nautical gear should verify coding accuracy in future solicitations rather than rely on this code as an active procurement signal. The mismatch suggests either a data-quality issue in the source system or that boathook procurement through state and local government channels remains inactive or categorized differently in current practice.
