NIGP 94774: Raking Services, Pine Straw

NIGP 94774 Raking Services, Pine Straw is an Item code that covers removal and management of pine needles and debris from landscaped grounds, a specialized maintenance service state and local governments procure for park systems, institutional grounds, and outdoor facilities. The code captures the labor and equipment required to rake, clear, and sometimes haul away accumulated pine straw from turf areas, walkways, and decorative landscape beds — work that preserves drainage, reduces fire risk in fire-prone regions, and maintains aesthetic appearance of public grounds. State and local issuing bodies soliciting under this code include parks and recreation departments, facility management divisions of state agencies, county grounds-maintenance programs, and school districts with substantial landscaped campuses.

No recent state and local contract opportunities appear in the available records for NIGP 94774 Raking Services, Pine Straw. The absence of posted solicitations under this code does not indicate procurement inactivity — pine straw management is often bundled into broader grounds-maintenance or landscape-management RFPs, awarded through standing cooperative purchasing agreements, or executed via term contracts with established vendors under existing vehicle authority, making individual notice posting less common than in higher-volume commodity classes.
